Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons – Day 34 [100%] – The End

So this is it, today we’re saying goodbye to the Sorcerers & Dragons chapter! It did take us 34 days (see previous day at Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons – Day 33). This is exactly the same amount of time that did take us to complete the Woodelves chapter. And again, we’re almost exactly on point with our progress projections. This is outstanding result, if I say so myself 😉 So lets see what happened right before we moved into the next chapter – the Halflings…

City changes

As of yesterday, we still had 15x residences at L24 instead of max L25. And in the final push we’re leaving the chapter with 9x L24 residences that will need to be upgraded in the next chapter. That’s not too bad at all, considering that beginning of a chapter is usually slow on construction – if you maxed everything in the previous chapter, that it.

So we’ll keep monitoring as to whether we have enough construction capacity, or should we get another builder. Fourth builder is expensive – 1000 diamonds – and so far there was no real need to get one. Still, this is an option.

Apart from that, the city looks pretty much exactly as it did yesterday. The observant reader would notice though that we have 2 new expansions on the east side. That’s right, in the flurry of map negotiations at the chapter end we completed enough provinces to gain 2 new province expansions. These are completely empty – I really have nothing to occupy it with as I am maxed out on all upgrades (except those few residences), and lack in nothing. This is highly unusual!

And yes, this will change in the next chapter. But for now, empty space it is! Oh, and we’re back into the positive pop territory. No issues with a short trip to the dark (negative) side 😉

And here is a birds-eye view of the city – the way we leave the Sorcerers & Dragons chapter:

Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons progress

With the influx of the KPs from wrapping up the marble tournament, we quickly closed off all the KP requirements for the Ancient Wonders of the Sorcerers and Dragons. But what about the research goods? Yep, as anticipated we still needed some additional Portal Profits for the final push. To be more specific, I dumped the last 45% worth of PP. With that, we deployed grand total of 325% worth of Portal Profits during this chapter. This is a new record – by far. Without considerable stash of those instants, I would be sitting in tech lock situation for a long, long time. The chapter is just designed that way, with insufficient max supply of apprentices that is not nearly enough. I am so happy to be done with this!

But wait, this is just closing off the AW tech. The chapter officially ends with activating the Advanced Scouts! Just like this:

Sorcerers & Dragons – Day 34 [100%] – The End

We already used 45 KPs to finish off the AW research, how did we do the quantum leap for another 120 KPs to finish the Advanced Scouts? Well, you know, with the usual routine.

Quantum leap forward…

I have stopped negotiating map provinces pretty much as soon as we unlocked all settlement techs – which in this chapter happened very early. The reason being is that map negotiation generates KPs, and I want to postpone all the KP inflows for as long as I can while in research goods production mode. But I was still scouting non-stop. By the time I stopped negotiation at the beginning of the chapter I had 258 provinces cleared. At the Sorcerers & Dragons chapter end I went on Elvenar map negotiation rampage – as usual. When the dust settled, I had 276 provinces cleared. So I cleared 18 provinces in one fell swoop. That’s 144 KPs right there!

But wait, there is more! For a long time I had my Mystery Object in the Magic Academy full of Vapor. This means that I could activate it and get a randomized reward for quite some time now. But I didn’t. One of the random prizes was 35 KPs with 40% probability. I figured it is too high a risk to open it during production phase. You don’t lose excess vapor, it keeps accumulating, so it’s not a waste.

And what do know? Indeed I hit that option, and got yet another 35 KPs! This is definitely the biggest KP day in all the time I’ve been playing Elvenar. So not only we almost instantly closed off Advanced Scouts, we’ve got quite a few KPs to carry over into the next chapter. Awesome! Activating Advanced Scouts didn’t require any esoteric resources, so I was ready to close it as soon as KPs were ready.

…was not easy

And yes, negotiating 18 Elvenar map provinces in one go at the end of Sorcerers & Dragons chapter drained my resources considerably. I was stockpiling quite successfully over the duration of the chapter, and now it was all gone in an instant. Poof! Gone. Especially T2 dropped pretty low. Still, I didn’t run out – not even close, and hopefully will start to recover again in the new chapter. So stay tuned!

All in all, we did pretty well in this chapter. I wish we didn’t have to deplete that much of our Portal Profits stash, but this couldn’t be helped. So see you in the Halflings!

Marble Tournament – 6* and KP harvesting day

Today we wrapped up the marble tournament as well. It was relatively uneventful. 6* stage is the shortest one in my setup – only 9 provinces, but the difficulty is obviously fairly high. And it was great that we have managed to fight through the whole stage – with less than 3 counterunits in fought encounters. This is an excellent result, considering that we started this tournament with less than 60 squads.

But you can stretch this balloon only so far – we still had to harvest KPs from 2* provinces 13-20. And here we did run out of troops. Still, we did fight all the encounters with less than 2 counterunits. The rest we had to cater. But even with that setup, we did fight more than half of all encounters.

All in all, this is a pretty decent result. We’ve certainly had much, much worse. Keep in mind though, that we had pretty much all the advantages we could muster – Unleashed Unit Upgrade, fed L10 Fire Phoenix and Magnificent Mage Multiplier. While I can count on the Fire Phoenix being there, the rest is questionable. I still have some stash of MMMs, but I have used my last UUU. And UUU impact is huge (yes, I did try this before 😉 ) So we will see.
