So, we’re in day 24 of Elvenar Woodelves chapter (see previous day at Elvenar Woodelves – Day 23). Relatively quiet day today, still monitoring the chapter progress. But a regular tournament day turned somewhat surprising. Are the Elder Treants just that good? Or am I just buying my way through the tournament a bit more than usual? 😉
Not a whole lot of changes in the city today. Settlement is up and running at its target capacity, and I don’t expect any additional expansions until the very end of the chapter. In the meantime, I am just upgrading the residences from L22 to L23.
So other than residences, here are some of the upgrades that are still on the list:
- Woodelves Habitat: that’s part of the main quest line, and will replace one of the Willows temporarily (and will give pop boost for upgrades)
- T1 planks manufactories: 2x remaining ones L19 to L20. These are expensive in pop, more than 2K between two of them.
- Mercenary Camp: :L4 to L5, primarily to change shape.
- Main Hall: L22 to L23: Very slow upgrade (42hr+ with boost), and also very expensive in mana (160K). That’s almost 2 days worth of mana production, so I’m not sure I’ll be able to afford it until the chapter end
- I am unlikely to have pop for much more, but I can consider start upgrading workshops from L22 to L23. These are slow upgrades, and would be nice to have a head start here. Not crucial though.
So far, definitely didn’t get enough refined goods stockpiled to run any L4 Forest Fabrications upgrades. Except for refined steel. It seems that initial research is quite light on chimes/steel, at the expense of marble and planks. So we’ll see if it equalizes soon, but so far I definitely cannot afford those L4 upgrades.
Elvenar Woodelves progress
Activated “A Grave, a Fountain and a Turtle” research. So far things are going smoothly on a day-to-day basis – I always have two techs open to sink KPs in. But ETA projections show that KP accumulation accelerates, while Forest Fabrications productions stays on target. Right now, we’re 1+ days behind.
I noticed that my Wishing Wells are throwing a lot of +3 KPs recently. Of course, it is most likely because I pay more attention to it now 😉 , but I had several instances when 2 out of 4 wells would give me 3 KPs. And I haven’t seen diamonds from the wells in a couple of days…
In any case, no changes are needed (or in fact possible) at this time. We’ll need to run for a few more days to see where we’re at. There will be a big burst of KPs on the last day of the tournament, but then it will be several quiet days, so we’ll see how numbers look like then.
Crystal Tournament – 4* Day
Today was surprisingly interesting tournament day. One point is that after day 1, we are actually accumulating troops during the tournament, rather than losing them (i.e. recoveries exceed losses). We actually started 4* day with the same amount of troops as we started stage 1*. This is awesome!
But this is primarily a function of a shortened 2* day, we’re going to hit those losses in the last day 😉
But what else is interesting? Losses in stage 4* were substantially lower than the last several tournaments (19 vs 26-27 squads). This is somewhat unexpected, given that we tracked pretty closely the other days. Usually, I get a couple of first defeats in stage 4* – this time I didn’t get any.
I have a couple of possible explanations for that. One is that Elder Treants are just that awesome (comparing to Elite Archers and Granite Golems). This is possible, but won’t really explain why we were close in previous rounds.
Another explanation is that there were more 3+ counterunit encounters that I would cater. This is certainly possible. It would also support my feeling that I am losing more crystals than expected. So let’s see how the rest of the tournament will go…
