So, we’re in day 2 of Elvenar Halflings chapter (see previous day at Elvenar Halflings – Day 01). Starting today, we have finally started to slow down from the flurry of changes at chapter transition. Now we’re settling into our regular pace – more or less. We still haven’t activated enough research to start proper settlement construction, so we’re still cleaning up the transition and working on preparing to the next major event – Summer Solstice!
City changes
As you can see, today we did not have dramatic changes in the city. That’s quite usual as after initial changes in the layout there is a quiet period until you unlock new research with more stuff to build or upgrade. And we’re not quite there yet.
So I am doing what I can – in particular, working on those portal upgrades ahead of time. We already upgraded portal to L2. This required deploying some Portal Profits (as we obviously have no other means of filling in research goods requirements), but at least we don’t need to speed up the upgrades with time boosters. There is nothing yet that will benefit from portal upgrades 😉 So we can do upgrades at their regular pace – and these are quite slow.
Apart from that, I moved the Carnival set to its proper location in the middle of the east edge – as promised. With that, our transitional layout is basically completed.
In the meantime, we’re finishing L25 residence upgrades, and building up our shantytown. Summer Solstice event is coming to town! The timing might be just perfect for it, as I have tons of space right now that we can populate with L1 production facilities. Believe it or not, I am constrained with pop 😉 Those small buildings take quite a bit of pop – if you build a ton of them. So I will be building more as I continue residence upgrades. There are only 5 left though…
Elvenar Halflings progress
Today we have finally had a slow KP day 😉 As such, we have not activated any new research. Just keep working on Irrigation Canal tech. We should be able to unlock it tomorrow.
We’ve negotiated another scouted province. And just as anticipated, I deployed some Portal Profits to fast-track Spring Grove upgrades. Unfortunately, requirements for that are quite steep. I used 70% worth of Portal Profits just to upgrade from L1 to L2. There are two more upgrades that will need about the same.
At least it improved our ETA projections on productions. Yesterday, we were looking at finish on day 43. Today, we improved to day 40. It is a long way to go to converge to KP ETAs of about 35 days…
Steel Tournament – recovery and preparation
Recovery mode is on from the tournament perspective. Steel tournament is the easiest one there is – we use light range vs opponents melee units. However, for the first time in quite some time we will not have Unleashed Unit Upgrade (+25% health) expiring building. We ran out of our stash, and haven’t seen one in a long time. So we will have our +50% damage from the Fire Phoenix, and I figured I will also place Enlightened Light Range for another +50% damage for our light range units. I have quite a few ELR buildings in the inventory, and unlike UUU I can only effectively use these in one tournament – steel. So might as well deploy it.
And this time around I will try an experiment with a new unit type – Dryad II. Dryads got an upgrade to L2, and recent attempt to use upgraded Training Grounds (for Banshee II) was quite successful. So we’ll see – I will start with Elite Archers, and then will switch to Dryads II for comparison.
My L6 Shrine of Shrewdy Shrooms produces Elite Archers for free. I didn’t think it will be material, but low and behold, we’re going to have more than 100 squads of archers – without producing them in the barracks! This is pretty awesome. So I will be focusing my production on the Training Grounds, and we will see how it goes.
Regardless, it should be a rather straightforward tournament. Right? Right?! 😉
