So, we’re in day 31 of Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons chapter (see previous day at Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons – Day 30). We continue fighting in the marble tournament today – it is time for 2* and 3* stages. Can we repeat yesterday’s success? Or perhaps even improve on that? We shall see…
City changes
We’re still working on finishing the upgrades. Now we have upgraded a couple of residences to gain necessary pop, and added another level to both remaining T1 planks manufactories. Only one level is remaining for both! And I keep reshuffling residences around, but the thing is, I will need to remove 3 of them according to plan. I just don’t need that many 😉
So in all likelihood, after we finish planks upgrades, I will remove the extra residences. This will likely get me into negative pop temporarily, but that’s not a big deal as there should be nothing that requires pop left to be built. I mean, I hope no new event comes up in the next few days, as this will impede my ability to build even L1 temp buildings.
So instead, I will fill in the space with Arcane Libraries. The reason that I put Libraries first instead of finishing residences (this avoids negative pop) is that it is beneficial to have Libraries early. The earlier I put them up, the more mana I can stockpile. Having extra pop for longer gives me nothing. So that’s the plan for the next few days.
Elvenar Sorcerers & Dragons progress
Today we have finished KP requirements for the “Needed Things…”, but we’re still working on rebalancing inventory so I haven’t unlocked it yet. Be better hurry as we’re running out of KP sinks – again. We should be in good shape for that for tomorrow though.
Then we’ll need to quickly turn around and close “A Maze…” as it is also getting close to completion. Then the path would be clear to the Ancient Wonders of Sorcerers and Dragons research. And that’s the last tech that requires S&D research goods. Right after we can start dismantling our settlement! Woohoo!
So we caught up by another day on the production ETA – now, we’re only a couple of days behind schedule. This should be relatively easy to cover. The total PP to Finish is down to 185%. We’re getting really close to the end here…
Marble Tournament – 2* and 3* day
This tournament I am going back to splitting 2* stage in two parts, to manage KP inflows. I do 12 provinces right away and provinces 13-20 I can deal with as late as the total tournament timeframe allows (as I only go 2* max here). So I will be doing those together with 6* provinces.
What that means is that today we only had to deal with two sets of 12 provinces. So how did it go? And the answer is – not bad, not bad at all! In fact, in our 12x 2* provinces we’ve lost less troops than we recovered in-between stages. This is the ideal scenario. 3* stage didn’t hit that mark – we’ve lost 17 squads vs 12-13 squads on recovery, but this is definitely pretty good. Also, in 3* stage we’ve dropped even below our regular 1:6 ratio of encounters with 3+ counterunits – meaning losses were somewhat higher than expected.
You can see that our recovery at 12-13 squads is significantly less than our previous setups where we did about 20 squads in-between stages. This is a factor of two things: one, Mercenary Camp production is just slower than Barracks, or even Training Grounds now. And second, we activated quite a few mandatory Squad Size upgrades very recently, so even for Barracks our recovery sizes won’t be what they used to be. That is, until the next Barracks upgrades in the next chapter.
All in all, we have started with 59 squads, and have 30 squads left after 3* stage, plus some recovery. Sure, we still have 8 provinces in 2* stage to deal with, and those would not be easy, but overall, we’re doing better than I expected. Some good news for a change 😉
