So, weβre in day 18 of Elvenar Woodelves chapter (see previous day at Elvenar Woodelves β Day 17). We have started to expand the settlement and build Grafting Sites. But mana reserves are rapidly depleting, we’re running on fumes. Will out progress grind to a halt?
City changes
Alright, so Woodelves settlement continues to expand and evolve – it is now 14L1/2/2/1. Yesterday, there was nothing but Forest Fabrications, but today we’ve got several Grafting Sites constructed. In particular, we’re up to 2/2/1 on the GS. This is a long way to go to the target 9/9/6! More I have builders on the standby, but it is the mana tears that are holding me back, even with 14x L1 Forest Fabrications and maxed out Forest Glade. They just can’t keep up with this burst of demand!
The whole FF complex produces about 2.4K worth of mana tears every 3 hours. This is just enough to build marble or steel grafting sites (2K each), but not enough to build planks GS at 3K each (but you get enough leftovers from marble and steel to cycle all three). Basically, you can start building one GS every 3 hours (and steel and planks take 5-6 hours to build). To reach 9/9/6 it would take 3 days of building non-stop!
Ouch. That’s a lot. And I am already practically out of mana as I had to unlock planks grafting site research. My extra mana production from the Winter Market set hasn’t yet contributed much as massive collection there is just once a day. How I wish I wouldn’t have spend 130K mana on that useless Main Hall upgrade…
No more cutting for now
Also, as I am constrained with mana tears, I didn’t have to cut additional Willows yet. In fact, I might be able to unlock another expansion before I need to do it. In this case, I will simply move one of them there. And really, it is only one that is in the way; the second one can be dealt with at the last possible moment, is only blocks last steel and plank GS (so just 2), no impact on the rest of the layout.
Elvenar Woodelves progress
Another double-stage tournament day today, so we’ve got another influx of KPs. Not that much, but still. This closed out the final Grafting Site research (planks), and actually moved us more than half way on an extra expansion tech. On one hand this is good news, but on the other hand it feels like we’re moving too fast. All this extra research needs mana to unlock, and mana will be constantly spent down to nothing for the next 2-3 days. All those mana tears…
Good news is that tournament is over, so the next few days should be the slowest ones from the KP perspective. And we need that breather.
As I mentioned before, now we’ll be postponing KP accumulation to the extent possible. Hopefully, this will bring 65KP/day down a bit. ETA numbers look excellent so far, but this is misleading. Remember, our forecasts don’t include build/upgrade times and assume full target production capability almost from the get go. And in reality we’re quite far from that π
And the mana stockpile is at only 15K, and is dropping fast. So while I believe that our longer term mana capabilities are fine, in a short term this won’t be pretty…
Planks Tournament – 5* and 6* day
Managed to wrap both 5* and 6* stages of the planks tournament today. Results are in the table below. Not too bad, to say the least! π Overall, pretty consistent with the last week’s tournament in terms of squads trained, losses and recoveries. This means that we’re sustainable with the new tournament setup!
This is excellent news. Troops are good (I have already started producing Elder Treants for the crystal tournament), supplies are still maxed out, and good inventories are in excellent shape. Have to be careful here though – with upgrading Frost Carved Christmas Trees to mana generation, I’ve lost their T3 (gems) production capability. There are no free lunches out there.
Luckily, with the new setup my goods needs for tournament catering are not material. But I need to watch out for research unlock requirements and especially for map catering costs. There are getting pretty high!
Overall, great tournament result. But I am still relying on Unleashed Unit Upgrade expiring building. Hopefully, I’ll be able to craft them at least once a week…
